Yeah, I got that Orwellian chill when I heard the name of the new agency.

Can anybody spot me plane fare for me and mine? I wanna move to London like the rest of the board. Quickly, before they seal the borders and close the ports.

(BTW: I'm just kidding about the plane fare . . . I think.)

What really has disturbed me about all of this is the absolute deafening silence that has greeted this from both the press and the public, along with people that seem to perfectly happy to throw their Constitutional rights out the window. A month ago, I could have never imagined this happening.

I couldn't believe for example some commentator on NPR (which is about as liberal as the U.S. press gets) saying "Well, the public just going to have to give up some freedom. If you don't like it too bad."

Fine. If you want to throw your rights away, that's your business. Don't throw mine away at the same time.

The world is a dangerous place and there is guarantee of safety in the Bill of Rights.

I would remind everyone of two things:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Fourth Amendment: Constitution of the United States of America

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. Oops, pardon my typo. That should say no guarantee of safety, not guarantee of safety.

I get overloaded when I'm typing in posts/replies and I make lots of mistakes.

The war on drugs pretty much wiped it's ass on that one. I wouldn't expect much better this time around.
