Obviously I am looking for things that show the place in a good light. I've already chosen some but would be interested in any input...

Wouldn't you want to tailor it to the people that we're invited? I think that there's some potential that some of the people who've been nominated for invitation might actually be put off if we only throw academic/activist stuff at them. That might even go for some of the people who are academics and activists themselves!

I think what you really want is half-a-dozen proper threads about big clever stuff related to the individual's sphere of interest and one completely out-there ignorant/kooky/plain wrong thread full of mistakes and/or disinfo that'll get them all pissy so they just HAVE to swing by and set the record straight. Or possibly a random eejit convo thang.
