On the magickal level, there's nothing new, old simpathic magic.

On a personal level, you shocked the memories out of me.
As spome of you probably know, I'm mexican.
When I was a kid, My grandfather used to tell me "heles a locion 7 machos" (you smell like 7 machos perfume) when i had not taken a bath or had sweat all over.
I had always tought he had made that name up, I never figured it really existed.
Thank you for the memories

Thanks -- I'm glad to bring up some fun memories!

It's funny how I discovered this stuff -- I'm an actor, and was invited to audition for an independent film by a production company called "Siete Machos Films." But they didn't leave their number, just their address, and I had something I needed to ask them. And I also wanted to check out the company, do some research on them on the Net. So I did -- and only about 2 sites mentioned the film company, whereas about 40 mentioned the love potion/perfume Interesting stuff! Now I know where the film company got their name !

Also,

What do you mean "simpathic magic," exactly? I've heard the term "simpatico," of course, but I was curious as to exactly what you're referring to. What makes magic simpathic?

I believe I used the correct word. simpathic magic is like magic by similarity. A goat's musk gives the user it's atractiveness and sexual power. Similar summons similar.
ON a paralel note, other of the typical love amujlets here in Mexico is the hummingbird. On the witchery markets, they sell dried up hummingbirds for love spells. I sometimes think it is a precolumbian belief, but i am not sure.

I always thought it was "sympathetic". What's all this "simpathic" business? Does it basically mean the same thing? Is "simpathic" a word? Does it come from a sci-fi, self help/magick book? Look over there, it's got a snout! Horrid!
