Henry Raddick, amazon.com reviewer & prince of comedy.

Don't just read the reviews - read his "gifts for the in-laws" and "bands whose keyboard players slept with my ex-girlfriend" lists.

'Know Your Pug'
by Pet Library Ltd

"An excellent guide which is helping me get to know my pug Grendel, which is not an easy job. My children have taken to attaching surprisingly realistic stick-on ears to his rump and he turned around and bit me recently when I tried to put a piece of cheese rind into what I thought was his mouth".

And it goes on like this for 241 reviews of an unbelievable range of books and videos... this bloke is committed...

Or, what about: 'The Law and sexuality : how to cope with the law if you're not 100% conventionally heterosexual'

"As one who is 89 % heterosexual (in conventional terms), I found this an enormously helpful guide to coping with the law".

or what about:

'Our Brilliant Heritage : Containing Grow Up into Him As He Walked If You Will Be Perfect Disciples Indeed'
by Oswald Chambers

"First rate. Chambers succeeds in doing that rare thing: writing a book whose title only makes sense if you type it into babelfish and translate it into German, then Portuguese and then back into English again."

He *is* funny. I am uncomfortable with some of his stuff though, and I'd hate to have him as a Barbelith troll...

ok, last one -

'Don't Shoot the Dog : Study Guide '
by James L. Kopp

"Kopp's marvelous guide shows how to train a dog without resorting to desperate measures. Thanks to this book I have kept my spaniel Barry in line with a couple of mock executions."

The great thing is the internal consistency: the relatives all have consistent names & characters (despite the way Raddick's own description and career evolves), and the Grendel saga is fabulous. At some point (I'm guessing) he tries to replace Barry with a bulldog puppy, and gets sold the 5-year-old pug instead.

I had to stop reading. I'm at the library. We're supposed to be all quiet-like. My guffaw-type laughs ruined the gentle clack of keys.

I would absolutely invite the man, if I only knew his contact details! If anyone is in contact with him, could they make it clear that his presence would be extremely agreeable!
