back in the earliest days of the nexus, i was macavity. then it was relaunched as the barbelith underground (mk1) and i became mistress smack, which was a play on "mistress macavity", which is what bizunth used to call me, and "mac" which is what i went by for ages, and not just online.

then i got bored of being a mistress, and i was back in america. the first time i did my three month tour, i barely got to post online, so the second time i thought i'd pick a new name: kriptik tripchik. but that was cryptic for all of two days, so i moved on after about a month. after a joke from ganesh about me being a "geekfucker", that was the name i went by for about a month, until that got tired real quick.

i was chatting to a guy i knew on the invisibles list and he used the term "kooky mojo" and that was the name i wanted. so here i am. think i'll stick with this name for a bit...

I started out as Ronald Thomas Clontle for a month or so before switching over to Flux = _____. If you look at all the old posts I did before that suit exploded, all of them have since reverted to Ronald Thomas Clontle...

As for the name, it is a very obscure reference to a Tom Scharpling skit in which a man named Ronald Thomas Clontle is interviewed promoting his music guide book Rock Rot or Rule, which breaks down all of recorded music into one of those three categories.

Let's see, back in the day I was plain ol' Loz, then after the first board change I became Tiresias, which excited a lot of people unintentionally as they thought I was the much more exciting Tiresias Rex from the first board (who were they?), then, whenever I got bored I changed the name, I forget most of them except for 'Some of my Trees are Weeping Now'.

Hrrrm. 'S funny. I was one of the people who was particularly grumpy about all the name changing and identity confusion when first it became common - perhaps because my screenname was somewhat immutable. Then I got into it and I had a string of names which changed all the time because I liked the way they sounded.

But basically, the only me is me, and always has been.
