| I think they're going to find it quite hard to pass the swingeing legislation that's been discussed in the European Parliament over the last couple of weeks, becasue it contravenes the human rights legislation that's already in place. But, but... ID cards are used in many European countries, several of which have been and are much more liberal than Britain, so it's not necessarily a problem, provided the democratic process works (which, in the UK, is debatable). |
