i heard rumours that the US were going to pin at least part of the blame for 9/11 on Iraq very early on. there's a decent possiblity they're implicated at least tangentially, i'm sure - but i don't think we'll ever be presented with any evidence.
nowadays, Iraq is less a country than an interactive firing range for the US military. they don't especially need a reason, but if they're planning to elevate their offensive, this kind of information is convenient. suspiciously so. |
