Sigils for Mayday

I was talking to my partner this morning and it occured to us that it would be helpfull to get some 'peace and tranquility' magick going on for the 1st of May, none of the protests so far have even discussed a violent approach however the others in charge of 'keeping the peace' may feel slightly different.

How about getting some peace sigil action for mayday? to protect the 'spirit' of the event?

Not everybody follows the same path, and so we might have different terms. Obviously, I get the general idea, but would like to know your definition.

Also, although there are many of us who now follow the old ways, are there really enough to promote world peace. Myself, I am not sure there are, what do you think?

Sounds like a job for the Mango. I'd recommend sending a PM to May Tricks or Naked Flame. We have specialised fruit for jobs like this!

It may be worth designing something new to act on some of the more specific aims of the protest, though.

Mmm, but I'll have to be reminded about the whole mango thing. OTOMH I'm not sure whether the intent is exactly what we'll need on Mayday (i.e. protection for ourselves and everyone we like and a positive outcome from the happening).

I reckon I'll have time tomorrow night to knock up a design if anyone's interested, although May Tricks seems to be the major sigil whizz from what i've seen. I agree with Bill's post above, the Mango is more for World Peace, isn't it? We'd need something more specific. If anyone wants to suggest a statement of intent that'd be cool, I could try to post a design here Friday morning (technical inability permitting - if I find myself utterly unable I can always email it to the relevant parties), maybe marker pen it onto a placard too.

I guess there's various ways this can be done. Either get a group sigil together, maybe get it on a placard, or people could just charge their own sigil in their own time.

I'm not particularly fussy about the exact method, I'd just feel better about the whole thing knowing that people had been wanking for our protection if the robocops get nasty. Protection would seem to want to get into the SOI s'where, as would 'positive outcome' if that's not too vague.

This is for peaceful, effective, communicative protest tomorrow, and no hassle from the police. I didn't put 'good weather' in there though, which might have been a good idea judging by the state of today so far.

Might I be so bold as to suggest a synchronised charge tomorrow morning? say, half ten?

Cheers for doing that. I may be at a demo at that point tomorrow, and I don't think me charging the sigil in public will do the cause any favours at all (!), but I'll see what I can do. I'm not sure these things have to be synchronised, but obviously it wouldn't hurt. Anyway, I trust I can rely on our legion of masturbators to charge it at some point! Ahhh, the things we have to go through in the name of magick...
