This thread helps me realize how lucky I am to be less intelligent than most of you here. I've not read as much as you guys on metaphysics and religions. Other than Castaneda most of what I know about this sort of thing comes from comic books and Sunday school. So for me, reading Promethea is like having the universe laid out for me for the first time in storybook form. I never know what is going to happen next.

Its very much like a first LSD or DM trip. I like it.

HunterWolf writes Issue 20's cover made me want to go look up Richard Upton Pickman on the Net and find out just who this bloke was.

Good luck. Pickman is a main character in a well-known H.P. Lovecraft story, Pickman's Model. Pickman is well-known for his horrific paintings of ghouls and the like; the story ends with the protagonist happening into Pickman's studio and realizing, to his horror, that there is a photograph depicting the scene currently being painted tacked to the easel...

By the bye, here's a pointer to a summary page on the Lovecraft story mentioned.

(And the next issue of Promethea is out on the 26th!)
