would you rather regret some of the things youve done or never take the risks to begin with?

Regret would be my choice, in a second.

Depends, doesn't it?

What you risk, for what.

Risk your new jacket to save the life of a child from a large dog? Yes.

Risk your left arm to pick up a mobile phone from a trainline? No.

It gets harder as risk and reward get harder to measure.

Take risks and have no regret. Can I answer that way? It's the only way to be. If you're going to take risks, you can't allow for regret. If anything, I regret not taking more risks in my life. The payoff, whether negative or positive, has always been worthwhile.

But if I was going to answer within the framework of the question, I'd rather regret things I've done than never have done them at all.

Zoom.

one regret i have now is that i haven't taken enough risks in my life (that may have led to further regret). experience beats safety almost any day of the week. except in dao jones' mobile phone circumstance. well, i don't have to try heroin either, i'm not looking for that experience... well, like i said, almost any day of the week.

Yes, though I'm already beginning to regret taking the risk to answer that question.

"It's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done" etc.
Which I like.
But in real life, I'm a wuss.

I have decided never to regret NOT doing something.

It's far better to regret actually doing it.

I don't really do regret (remorse, yes, but that's different). We learn from our mistakes. You have to go out on a limb sometimes just to move forward. Isn't the SAS motto "Who dares, Wins"? If we don't take the risks, go for the crazy stuff, do what they say should never be done even if it means fucking up sometimes, how can we ever progress?

Incidentally, can someone help me remove my penis from this vacuum-cleaner attatchment? Ta.

Mmm hm. Well, at this moment, I am particularly inclined to answer: it really depends on the risks. If I am aware of the risks, then I'd rather do a thing and live with the consequences of that thing.

The unfortunate times are when you are ignorant of how many the risks are and how high they are.

I've managed to do a lot of things that I regret, and simultaneously not do things that I wouldn't mind regretting.

Dipping a cigarette in a popper and smoking it, for instance, I don't think was a very good idea, now I know more about the medicine involved.

Indeed, smoking is so bad for you.

How did you get your penis into that little hand held vac?

Oh. Sorry.

I'm usually stuck with the 'regretting things not done because I never had the courage to do them', which is unfortunate since I rarely regret things I've done. Am working on courage, will keep you all posted.
