Umm.. I do it full-time. But I don't get paid.

Umm.. or do you mean party politics? I only do that half time.

And I don't get paid for that either.

I know a fair few people who do, and my dad's a councillor. All Labour party.

I don't myself; I was a member of the Labour party for a year, mainly as a favour to my dad, and I left because I didn't agree with the direction the party was going.

Why do you ask?

I'm VERY interested in politics. In your political year what did you do? Canvas? Was it an election year? What part of the country does your father come from?

I'm a liberal meself.

Er, '95, I think. Not an election year.

Did do some work for the Labour party in 1997, stuffing envelopes. Mainly to get the Tories out where it was needed.
My dad: Somewhere in Wales.

How about you? Liberal as in Lib Dem, or non-UK liberal? What do you do?

Do you think most people in politics are decent, or have they sold their souls to the party?

Interseting question. I was gonna post a topic entitled 'Do you trust the government?' actually.

I like Tony Blair. I think he's trying to do a good thing, and he's stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. (Bush and the 'English' people that put him in the house.) I HATE the way the Conservatives STILL use the prehistoric, English patriotic thing to try to get votes. Having a go at the PM because he was out of the country trying to make the world a better place for third world countries? Slagging him because he wasn't at some half-important meeting in the house about sending soldiers to Afghanistan? Which he wouldn't have talked at anyway? Wankers man, pure wankers.

But I'm concerned about Charles Martin Smith. I think there's more to him than meets the eye. And he has a surprisingly smart group of people in his higher circle.

I think that the Liberals will be in power within the next twelve years, the way things are going at the moment.

Are you gonna watch question time tonight? Wanna chat after it?

Nah, I'm going offline now, sorry. Probably down the pub, too.

Charles Martin Smith? Do you mean Ian Duncan Smith?

My ex studied politics and international studies. Does that count?

No. To be perfectly honest that's a little bit pathetic.

Scandinavian politics, yeah: half-time extraparliamentary radical politics (anti-nuclear, squatting, pro-globalization-protesting, anti-racism, pro-immigration) and half-time in the youth federation of the local Green Party, which is really big here, and is in government, too (on bringing up pretty much the same issues "within the system").
