The U.S. Supreme Court today struck down a law that banned virtual or computer-generated images of minors engaged in sex acts. The 6-3 decision was notable in that Clarence Thomas did not, for once, vote on the side of his mentor/puppetmaster Antonin Scalia. Thomas sided with the majority, while prooffering his own opinion (another rarity).

Well, I'd like to believe that Thomas had motives based on the idea of free speech and an objection to the scope of the law concerned. He is a judge, sure, but some of them are okay.
