This film is fucking genius of the highest order. Have it taped ad-free off Bravo. And so few people have seen it... the redub of "FBR" and "CEA" is a good laugh.
It's great. Really. Everyone, hunt it down.
In a nutshell: James Coburn is a psychiatrist. He gets headhunted to be the President's shrink... on call 24/7. He quickly realises that everyone in the country can talk to someone - their shrink. Even the President. Only he can't tell anyone anything. So he runs off. And the FBR and CEA (FBR being a bunch of midgets in suits, CEA being relatively pleasant), as well as every foreign intelligence agency chase him. The field sequence is great, and the ending is marvellous... TPC?
Oh, and the suburban family are also wonderful: "What have I told you? The car gun stays in the car; the house gun is for the house".
Only tSuibhne will get those. But yeah. Go and see it. |
