Ok this has been bugging me for weeks. I read a few reviews in a number of music mags just recently regarding a new album by a German Pianist who plays lo-fi songs that sound a bit like The Smiths. Apparently its a really good album according to the reviews. anyone heard of this?
Dont get me wrong I dont want to buy it, just listen to it. The reason is I work in a Cd shop and all of us try to search for something interesting to listen to as shoplay. Not as easy as you might think as anyone else who works in a record shop might also tell you coupled with the fact that we're not allowed to play anything in the least bit abraisive.
Actually if anyone else has any suggestions for stuff that would make me appear to be a little more windswept and interesting in my musical taste it would be greatly appreciated.
you could do worse than try a bit of pollyanna frank - an israeli duo, one of whom used to be in shouty queercore band sister george, but this band is very different, much more poppy. i do believe they have a cd out.
