Who'd be in your party?

I've recently found days vanishing from my life due to an overdose of Baldur's Gate II. Assuming it became necessary to assemble a top-notch adventuring party from Barbelith (almost certainly in response to some *evil* plot to dominate the globe), who would you choose for your fantasy archetypes, and why?

Someone has to start us off, so:

FIGHTER: Tom - for his countless battles against the wicked trolls
CLERIC: Expresionless - because I know the chap in real life and
he suits the Cleric class perfectly.
MAGE: Haus - Overly complex, unnecessarily analytical, and
slightly aloof (oh, and huggles of course).
BARD: The Artful Knodger - for endless and irrepresible tales
about himself in all their tedious attention to detail.

Do we have to stick to straight classes, or can we use kits, such as the Kensai from Baldur's Gate 2?

No holds barred, Trijahos. Any class, any race - just so long as it's a recognised dungeons and dragons character class.

Cool. I'd go it solo, with my +5 Vorpal Sword, ring of infinite wishes, and my +10 plate mail. As for race and class, I'd be a Illithid Pscionicist.

I feel your [lameness] pain. Has anyone read "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson? I've always been amused by the protagonist's habit of lumping people into archtypal personality-categories according to Tolkien....

To actually get into the D&D spirit of things, I think most people on Barbelith would fall into that category of multi-classed ubercharacters from exceedingly strange species only listed in Planescape suplements and those abysmal R A Salvatore novels...a plank could write better fantasy ficiton...(why o why won't they give me cash? I am sooo much better.). Given my own oscillations between the airily conceptual and the bluntly concrete, I must be some kind of highly unstable elf-dwarf hybrid that occasionally experiences traumatic head explosions....

I would love to be able to make a serious contribution to this particular stream, but I'm relatively new here and don't know anyone yet. Also I have little to no knowledge of Baldurs gate II. Still I find the topic of choice, and the response to it a lot of fun and a good sign about the peeps who chill upon here. See you round the multiverse.

This might not be the time to mention it, but I'm really an Illithid mind-flayer.

Head like a squid! Head like a sqiiiiiid!

Oh. Well, in that case, I'm a wandering monster that appears when you roll a fifteen on 3d6.
