You can all meet up with me and beat me senseless, one by one!

Coldplay, Pink Floyd, The Who and The Small Faces, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Radiohead, Prodigy and Dr Dre - What more could a bunch of freedom loving weirdos want?

I'm deadly fucking serious. Let's do it and see how it goes!

earplugs? guns? a bit of good music? a comfy bed? a nice meal?

How about a quiet life, with my wife? It's all I need, for goodness sake.

Or a little bit of love to take the pain away?

I've never been to Glasto. Is it any good?

ganesh, it's pretty good. i saw pavement there in 1997 when the stage was sinking and i thought it was ace and i later read an interview with mr. malkmus who said it was there worst ever gig. there are places at glastonbury to get free milk and soap. it's not for the faint hearted. when me and my three chums walked to where the buses are (which is miles uphill) two of them fainted! so it's a good idea to not do all that many bong hits before you set off. now i am sounding like a mum. i went to glastonbury in 2000 and it was good because of the flaming lips but bad because of all the scallies who tried to mug my boyfriend. more people on coke, and a lot more muggings. i think it depends on the bands, and where you are camped.
i don't know if they'll be as many muggings this year, the posh people who have flown in in those fucking helicopters might object. top scran.

i could never go back to glasto (or 'the pilton pop festival' as the people actually from glastonbury call it). last time i went was 1993 and it was HORRENDOUSLY crowded even then. mind you, i have blissfully nostalgic memories of smaller gatherings in the same place when i was a child. playing 'house' on the "world-famous" pyramid stage is a pretty good one.

as far as i'm concerned, i don't need to waste an hour of my life trying to squeeze past hundreds of people to go half a field's distance to get from one stage to another. espesh as the line-up doesn't even sound all that good.

but that's just me.

I used to go every year but I've missed the last couple. I'm planning on going this year (even though it looks like I might actually have to -ulp!- PAY to get in). Actually, I usually miss most of the bands. The comedy tent's good, though. (And so's the kid's tent, if they've got Bodger and Badger again.)

but aren't the rolling stones playing this year? or is that just a vicious rumour to get the likes of me excited for no good reason?
i don't know whether to take my boy along this year. he's american, and hasn't been to a festival before. i think he'd prefer it to reading, at least.

Well, me and spooky (my. girl. friend.) are going, with sundry mates... stoatman, we have to arrange to meet if you'er going to be there (doesn't mean we actually WILL, of course, but if we make an arrangement there's more chance of it happening).

And anyone who goes to Glastonbury for the music is kind of missing the point. It's a miniature city with all kinds of groovy stuff happening at all times of the day or night. Bring enough (or the right) mates and plenty of recreationals, and it's five days of kaleidoscopic adventure a-go-go... personally speaking, as spooks and I intend to be packing before we go and moving house when we get back, I'm thinking we'll need all the recreationals we can handle...

Sounds like you've got the right idea about Glasters, there, o Bodiless one...
'Twould be cool if a bunch of us went. I'm definitely (as far as I know) going, sounds like JtB is too...
still no word on whether Bodger & Badger are on, though. And the not knowing is KILLING me...

bodger and badger could be a sublime experience. as long as badger flings mashed potato around.

Last time I went there was PLENTY of mashed potato... the year after, I couldn't get the time off work, but one of my friends went, went to the kids' tent, and got me... (gasp)- BODGER & BADGER'S AUTOGRAPH! With a little doodle of Badger with a speech bubble saying "wotcher Stoatie"... 'tis my prized possession to this very day.

Well I'm going on my glasto pligramage with Invisable Al and Mr. E (where ever they are these days).
Ganesh if it's sunny and you can deal with some serious slummimg, it's the best place on earth, the people are really nice, the music is good if not cutting edge. Bring nice people with you, mind your stuff and you'll be fine.

Some info.

rumors

If there are people going who don't need a planking, we should have a barb meet there. (dear god the potential mess!)

And there should be less shit this year, the wall should keep the crime down. You pay in or fuck off. Good.

A Glasters Barbe-meet could be truly MAD! (In a good way.) Though I may take a plank just in case.

'sense'

Yes. It is a WONDERFUL idea. In theory. In practice... we'll see. Early would probably be best, as people's mobys may still be working on Friday... guaranteed that either batteries will be out or the area will be swamped with signal by the actual weekend... plus I may have 'overindulged'...

Security has been taken over by mean fiddler group, name describes them perfectly, they get 20% of takings, if all goes well they get 40% next year. The fence is becoming a wall and it is going to come down this year, no doubt.

I really hate Glastonbury, to many people too many casualties, but I still go with a big group of mates, we turn up a week before do loads of green fields stuff and leave a week after the actual festival. And despite myself I still have a really good time.

Dunno this year is going to be a messy festival, isn't it always, but hey get tented up with lots of people you know, it's worth spending half a day to make sure you are tented up aound lots of people you know. There is a big tent robbing scene so it is always good to know that the people near your tent know your face and will pull up a stranger walking into your tent.

Us lucky sods are parked up in secure area's so less robbing worries. Try and stay for Monday or Tueasday cause they are always really nice times. And take lots of bog roll and find a good shitter. It can get grim.

If you want a really nice festival time, go to one of the green gatherings, the Welsh green is going to be particularly good this year.

Happy festival times. DogStar
