Neatly resolving the tricky diplomatic position, the Taliban government tactfully and sensibly declared war on the World's Most Powerful Nuclear Arsenal this morning.

'We are resuming the Jihad' against the US, they announced.

Update: some sources report that Afghanistan's ruling Taliban regime has set out conditions for the transfer of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, others that they have declared war.

NB "jihad" = lit. "effort".

(I just typed a huge long post then hit some stupid fucking shortcut and fucking deleted it fuck!!!)

Anyway, someone over in Afghanistan has obviously made a right pigs ear of public international diplomacy..

According to that ITN link, the Taliban's conditions for the Bin Laden handover seem a little cheeky - wouldn't it be weird if America co-operated and ended up giving aid and support to a regime that it strongly dislikes, and one which has furthermore just announced a holy war against them?
