I'm probably going down with some people called Youth Action for Palestine. We'll also be doing an 18 hour vigil outside parliament.

I think people are currently more pissed off than they have been for a while, but the po-lice haven't payed the media to stir things up yet. Looks like the kuntz tactic this year is to shut up. This is, in my opinion, is because there's more perceived meat to the anti-capitalist arguement this year. Don't know if much will be acheived by this anyway though, it's not like the peace marches from Hyde Park did much.

I know, I've noticed a distinct lack of anarchist samurai sword baby-eating stories as well. Perhaps they're hoping that they can play the post-Sept-11 "if you're not with us you're against us" card. Well, that won't work in the UK, I'm afraid.

Of course the media have other things to be concerned with right now.

I agree, I was gutted though not overly surprised that the anti-war marches got sweet fa on the coverage front, when some many people feel that way and no body in goverment gives a monkeys it really gives you no faith in government at all, preaching to the converted here I know but the amount of people who went on those marches some people are going to be changing there minds about how we should be living...

I'm starting to think the bastards have fully won. Socialism is completely ineffectual, basically because most of the socialists have been killed by dictators installed by Maggie and Ron.

Hitler was probably part of this set up as well, financed as he was by higher ups in European and US banks.

Secret is to find a socialist formulation which plays on people's nostalgia for all the proper communities that were eradicated by the "no such thing as society" brigade. Probably wouldn't really be recognisable as old-style socialism anyway. That's why critical mass et al get far more popular support than "anti-capitalism" per se - 's a mistake to go for the big scary picture. Make people believe things can happen on a local, real level and you're on to a winner.

We need to start thinking 'bout what sort of points we want to make with our demo...
