The big news of the moment for all Barbelites is that
the Underground has completely relaunched with a new
look and completely new features.
The new URL is http://www.barbelith.com/underground
Based on ideas that have been formulating in my
head for a while, and built by Cal Henderson of
iamcal.com - the new board doesn't crash every
ten seconds and has an integrated private message
system and a more distributed moderation scheme.
But you don't need to know about all of that.
If you haven't been around for a bit - this is
the perfect time to come and hang out again...

The other news is that Rob (sleazenation) has agreed
to update the webzine - a job that became too much
for me - and is currently putting the finishing
touches on the first new article of his reign of
terror.

Observant types may have noticed that the board isn't
accepting new members at the moment. This is as a
result of some recent difficulties with spammers, trolls
as well as because we wanted to test the new functionality
without overloading it.
This won't last forever - so if you've got friends
you'd like to sign up, then just be patient...
----> NEW BOARD POLICY ON MULTIPLE USER-NAMES
For basically the reasons outlined above, the board
now has a new policy on people having multiple
'suits'. Because we can't get rid of people who
are trying to fuck the board unless we can
stop them reregistering (and because many of the new
features of the board will increasingly involve
voting), we're pushing for people to sacrifice
their old user-names. If you have more than one
fiction suit, let us know and we'll burn one of them
(or at least leave it as a hollow skeletal shell).
