Right. I was looking for CDs in the town library, and found the Gaiman Miracleman trade (The Golden Age).
Gosh. This is rather good, isn't it? IMVHO it's better than Sandman, and I love the flexibility of Buckinhgam - some of the artwork's great, especially the Warhols (I realised the whole duplicates thing the page before they did the frames within frames) and the Paul-Auster-Esque Spy Story. It's... all so good.
But I don't know the Alan Moore stuff at all. Is that in trade, too? Should I read it? What else should I know about the Miracleman/Marvelman thing? Just curious, but I was surprised by quite how good it was. Far better than I'd have though; from what I've read overall, I'd say it's some of Gaiman's best work. |
