What worries me a lot about this is the USA's history of revenge attacks;-

American Airliner in middle east shot down by Irani air defence- reprisals taken against Iraq. ( I may like Ronald Reagan have got these countries the wrong way round - apologies)
example c 1986
terrorist cell based in Syria attacks USA bases in Germany - reprisals against Lybia taken.
In an elective democracy it is more important to do something quickly than do the right thing; particularly with good news management.
I want to see the evidence before my country is committed to 'War' with anyone, particularly by allies with that track record. |
