Cool exhibition at the Horse Hospital

There's an exhibition just opened at the Horse Hospital in Russell Square of artwork by David Tibet (Current 93) and Steven Stapleton (Nurse With Wound). I went last night- it's pretty fucking smart (Tibet has loads of pictures blending Gnosticism, Surrealism and cute little kittens and Stapleton has more disturbing stuff involving treated photos and collage, including the original 3-D version of Coil's "Astral Disaster" album cover.
It was the opening last night so it was pretty rammed, but I want to go again when it's less crowded.
It's on for about a month and it's free to get in- hurry along kids!

here's some details: the horse hospital is on the corner of colonnade/herbrand street, just behind russell square tube. it's open from midday - 6pm monday-saturday, until 4 may. press the buzzer to get in. i've just, been along and had no luck, due to the the organisers being asleep, i think, after last night's do.

more coherent thoughts on this. i wasn't sure if i was in the right frame of mind to even see this, after being hassled by an aggressive man in the street for not coming to heel when he called.

the styles of the two are totally different. tibet's i didn't take to at all - i found it childlike, not to my taste. stapleton's, however, was excellent - as well as the coil album cover (love's secret domain) some nightmarish stuff. the music that was playing in the gallery was specially done for the show. i heard c93's cd, which was wonderful and set the atmosphere nicely, i wanted to get it straight away, but it comes in a 2 cd set with nurse with wound providing the other cd. at £20, it was out of my league. so if someone buys it, can i please, please have a tape???

i didn't have a huge amount of time, but i will be going back.

Missed the sound installation- it was too rammed and noisy on Sunday night. I LOVED Tibet's stuff- I think its childlike qualities are kind of what I like about his music to an extent- the blending of apocalypticism and childhood imagery (remember "Swastikas for Noddy" and "Looney Runes"?)
Stapleton's probably the better artist, though, that aside.
