| It's not there to stop people posting perfectly normal edits. It's there to stop the odd dubious rogue changing their arguments a lot half-way through a thread or deleting everything they said thus rendering the thread nonsensical to everyone else. It's easier for someone to change their own posts than it is for a moderator to get a change performed upon them - but he level of difficulty has gone up a bit generally. I know people are slightly resistant to this approach - but it seems to be working OK, and often the change takes as little as ten minutes to take effect... |
