Okay, here's the gen on the next few TG bashes:

First and formost, we have the 11th birthday party...

TORTURE GARDEN
11TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
@ BRIXTON ACADEMY, LONDON
10PM - 6AM
TICKETS IN ADVANCE & ON THE DOOR [IF AVAILABLE]:
£25 MEMBERS £30 NON-MEMBERS + £1 booking fee per ticket

The flyer promises fashion performances (no, I don't know what that means either), a futuristic dungeon and a medical playroom. The theme this month is "Medical". Ho, hum.

If that's a little rich for your blood, there's TG-arranged fun and games goin' down at Electrowerkz (the Gothlings are already pricking their pointy little ears up but for the rest of you Electrowerkz is a venue round the back of the Angel tube, okay?), under the name of Seed. This isn't the full-on TG experience, BTW, so you'll have no interesting flagellatory anecdotes, but my guess is that there will be a vague fetishy flavour to the evening. Tickets'll set you back all of a fiver.

However, the next Seed is on Friday the 12th of April, when all small beasts will be getting ready to go to Expressionless' 13th of April beanfeast. WON'T THEY?

If you can't make the b-day hootenanny, then the next TG proper is on the 31st of May, at Mass in Brixton. No further details at present.

Um, okay, is anyone planning on going to this? ZoCher and myself are still undecided...

Awww, shuuucks!

Mordant, where d'you get the Medical theme from? All the flyers I've seen so far have been non-specific.

Erm. Not sure, exactly, now I come to think of it- I suppose the presence of a medical installation and some vaguely medical-looking images on the flyer might have conspired to give me that impression.

I don't think I can make this one- £30 is a wee bit out of my price-range at the mo.

ok, WHAT'S THE DATE??

i know it's on the flyer, but for people who can't read certain sites at work....

if it's this weekend (which i seem to recall seeing a poster for), then i can't do it. too short notice and i'm busy on friday anyway. may 31st is when i'm down in bristol for comics2002. might be able to make the 12th, but depends on money and who all else is going.

Why don't we make a meeting on the 12th, then, so we can fill that church with barbeloids? I'm sure there's lots of us really up for it, but that won't be able to make it this weekend.

This is all far too late. Unhappiness. I blame my lack of net access, personally...

OK. If we assume that this Saturday is perhaps a) too expensive and b) too soon when nothing's been orgnanised so far... what about the 31st?

Me and spooks will try our best to make it this time, despite both of us being ill at the moment (dear god, please let us be well for the end of May. Please?) - I want to meet ZoCher, and I want to persuade Rothkoid to go. Heh.

Whaddya think?

I don't think we're likely to go this coming weekend. Like ZoCher, I enjoyed Torture Garden but not so much that I'd necessarily choose to spend a whole night there in the absence of other people I knew.

Rather than commit months in advance then drop out, I think I'd rather leave things vague at this stage; see how socialising and finances pan out between now and the end of May...

Yeah, I think me & Pacha are a bit out-of-it wealth-wise for this one, and probably not up for TG-ing it sans chums either. Another one sometime soon would be cool, though

Hey you guys if you are planning on going back to the TG after June 5 (when I return to Lundn) and I manage to get some cool gear (and I actually just found a fabulous web site that sells really nifty looking and reasonably priced fetish gear for the more curvaceous vixen) I'd love to come along! I've never been to such a place so I think it'd be fun.

Let me know kids!

GOLDEN JUBILEE TG, anyone?

"On May 31st Torture Garden will be celebrating the Queen as a cultural icon. TG celebrates the Golden Jubilee in it’s own subversive and twisted way as part of the official weekend of events by exploring the Queen as cultural icon, from drag & punk to history & fantasy, as well as quirky British culture in general! This should be one of TG’s most bizarre themed events ever, so dress up in the theme and have fun.
As well as the themed visuals, décor, music & performances already listed on the flyer, we’ll also have various other drag and royal themed shows as yet unconfirmed, so be prepared for surprises throughout all 3 main rooms.

FREE ENTRY FOR FULL DRAG QUEENS!
As this event especially celebrates Drag Queens, we’re happy to offer free admission to anyone in full Drag Queen attire. But we do mean full Drag Queen costume!

THEMED DRESS CODE
As usual the themed dress code is not compulsory, and regular fetish outfits are still fine, but making an effort to dress in the theme really makes a difference to both your own experience and the look of the club. Therefore please try to at least wear an accessory with your regular fetish attire if not a fully themed costume. Check out the flyer for suggested options or use your imagination." - from the newsletter

I have a Torture Garden related question. In terms of attire is there any call for special effects make-up?

I have to go back to work now, but... anyone want to go to the TG on 31st?

Because we might, if we know other people will be going. But otherwise, probably not.

Me and Pacha are almost certainly going along, union-jack g-strings and scary demon-eye contact lenses at the ready (well, probably not).
So, yeah, consider us there- it goes without saying that the offer of a place to crash is extended to you and the fair spookster, should you be stuck.

Special boy: yes, I'm sure that would be a good thing to have to hand. You thinkin' o comin?

Kooky: ah g'wan g'wan- oh no, fuck you're going to that bloody comic convention too aren't ye? Ah well

Nope, a friend of mine is coming to London later in the year with some brand new SFX make-up skills and was wondering if they could hawk them to TG patrons.

Hmmm... afraid we'll have to give it a miss. Moving house last weekend has cleaned us out, and it looks like it'll be a quiet one. Thanks for the offer, Meme/Pacha... hope to catch up with you both soon as.
