Right, this link may not work because I'm crap at HTML, but:
The War Times
This is going in Switchboard since the death of the New World Crisis thread, but I think this is quite a good idea for a newspaper.
A lefty from San Francisco, Bob Wing, decided to put a paper together to give the other side of the news on the "War on Terror" and pass on details which were being ignored by the mainstream media. The paper is being supported by the usual - worker's groups, left-wing organisations, Chomsky - as one might expect.
However, what is odd is that it is proving far more popular than expected. A pilot issue earlier this year was expected to sell around 7,500 but demand led to 100,000 being distributed.
So people want to read the other side of the news.
And War Times is online here, and in the stores pretty damn soon
You might want to buy it, and you might want to talk about it here.
Do you think War Times will be a success?
Is the project worthwhile?
Should more people be trying to do something like this?
Will you buy it? |
