Some friends of mine are petitioning to have a dog park built in Sara Roosevelt Park (Lower East Side, Manhattan - below Houston and 2nd Ave) and are looking for signatures. If you have a Manhattan home or work address and feel like helping out, the petition can be signed online.

I was just curious what a "dog park" is.

It's somewhere you can take dogs to let them run around with other dogs (you can't have your dog outside and off its leash in Manhattan otherwise - and most regular parks don't allow dogs at all).
