Truly. I stepped out of the car this morning and realized that our cold snap here has broken. It just feels that it's only going to be warm from here on out. You could practically smell things growing.

yeah. i'm happier, more relaxed and optimistic. feeling the season's change makes me glad to be alive. i was in my local cemetary the other day and the birds were really going for it, singing and stuff, so maybe they feel it too.

I really does cheer you up, waking up in the morning and walking to work when its warm and bright rather than dark, and its even light on the way home (and the clocks go forward this weekend)...Things are looking up for Goldbear

I'm not actually that adverse to winter. Maybe three of the Canadian ones have conditioned me a little. I enjoy the bright starkness of it and harsh raw energy of a howling winter wind. Of course waiting for a bus or a street car in sub-zero temperatures on a daily basis for three months will wear a little thin. But it's all kept in balance by being able to watch as nature flexes it's muscles and reminds us where our place really is in this world. It's a balance that I can take a certain delight in.

However, it's good to feel the tides of change as nature serves us in it's prevention of complete stagnation. No more so than today which has been punctuated by last nights snowfall. There is that sharpness in the air today that is mixing wildly with the flavour of the thaw. All this is bringing a wave of clarity that makes me want to throw open windows, break the cable hibernation and throw out the TV.

I love winter, but I'm so fucking sick of the piddly little effort mother nature has made this year. I want a winter where I have to think twice about actually stepping outside 'cause the temperature's dangerous to human beings. (Ahh, for the long gone days of Winnipeg)
As such, I'm really happy to see spring, even if it did snow last night enough for my me to go tobogganing.

I really like Autumn, but we don't really seem to get it any more. I'm sure it's not just my nostalgia glands over-reacting that makes me think of late September days, the air still warm but colder than summer, a slight sharpness on the wind, the leaves turning brown in the trees, the nights getting noticeably longer...

These days the weather seems to be in two states, Summer or Winter. At least this Winter past has been quite mild. Course, we always have a week or two this time of year that makes everyone feel good that Spring's arrived, then it pisses down for two more months. Still, it should be dry for tomorrow morning when I'll hopefully see Mark Thomas [/namedrop]

I'd like the whole seasons changing more if I didn't get horrible headaches every time they change. I really wish it'd make up its mind what it was going to do around here. Last week, it was in the mid-50's, all you needed was a long sleeve shirt and you were fine. Now it's 33 degrees and you're pulling out the winter coat again. Where the heck is spring?

Bah! Give me a place that's 62 degrees fahrenheit all year round and I'll be happy.
