For the discerning music lover: let it be known that Peaches is playing two dates in London this coming weekend, on Friday 8th March at 93 Feet East, and Saturday 9th March at the Great Eastern Hotel. Tickets are £10 for the first one and you can get 'em from Ticketweb - don't know about the second one, but call the venue and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out...

Some of you may be familiar with Ms Peaches' rather scandalous recordings. Her live shows are apparently something else entirely - I have been advised by one Barbelither not to miss this even if I have to sell my job and quit my ass to do so.

I'm not yet sure which night I'll be going to, bu does this tickle anyone else's fancy? Come on, you know you love it, you slutz...

Yeah, I've got the flyer. Can't make it, but would be interested to hear how it goes. Solex are doing a DJ set as well, aren't they? Interesting and beards.....

Haus about we all give each other a big lovely huggle?

I coulds be eeenterested....what is this Peaches person like? I've heard good things, and apparently she is the German Wesley Willis, which is always good...

I could definetely be up for the Saturday night one.

OK, I can only see dates for Friday and I am in Brighton Friday- is the Saturday night do part of the wankfest that is Electric Stew?

Probably if it's at the Great Eastern- I'll find out. Would be much better to see her at 93 feet East anyway.

Well, for one, Peaches is absolutely nothing like Wesley Willis. She's more like a raunchier, XXX rated Britney Spears. Also, she only lives in Germany - she's a Canadian.

I strongly encourage you all to go catch this show - she's much better live than on record, mainly because she's quite the performance artist. Depending on what the laws are like in yr area, the raunchier the show will be. It will be funny, and it will be danceable, and it will be sexy.

Especially if she has Gonzales and/or Taylor Savvy with her.

Also, Solex DJing is an added bonus that seems a bit crazy to pass up, I think....

Taylor Savvy is definitely going to be at the 93 Feet East show on Friday - I've heard a rumour that Gonzales will be at the Great Eastern Hotel on Saturday, but can't find any official confirmation of this...

My friend just told me that he thought the Sat gig was at 93 East too- I'm going to call Rough Trade when I have a mo.

You kids have to go. You have to. Especially if Cobra Killer are on the bill. Solex is a pretty god consolation prize though, even if CK aren't there.

Peaches == strap-on heaven.

Clarification: the Saturday gig is at the Great Eastern Hotel (apparently right by Liverpool Street station), not at the Great Eastern dining rooms/bar on Great Eastern Street (the one in Sho'ditch proper, near the Foundry - repeat, NOT that one). Looks like I'll be going to that one too, possibly with a posse... I'm trying to sort out a freebie but according to the guy on the phone today there are loads of tickets left anyway, which you can get from the venue or the Rough Trade shop in central London, at £8 each.

As to what this place is like, a friend of mine says it is "like Studio 54". The website does indeed look very posh...

Oh, if Cherry Bomb reads this and is up for coming (possibility discussed via e-mail), might be quicker to let me/us know here, then either I or someone else who's grabbing tickets can get ya one...

There's a rumour that Saturday's gig is part of Electric Stew, which if you believe some people is the trendiest bestest blah blah blah club night in London, which may not be a good thing, but whatever - point is, there may even be, yikes, a dress code, but I'll investigate this by phone tomorrow. I dunno what I'm wearing - probably something far too conservative. And black.

Electric Stew is by far the worst night I have ever been to, but I do not know for definite it is there yet- however if it's at the Great Eastern Hotel ...

Dress code? What the fuck? Best night? Dress code?

Well the tickets (while looking a lot like flyers) don't say anything about either Electric Stew or a dress code. So that's alright then.

Me, sleaze, Haus, Cherry and plums are all going on the Saturday - do we want to have a clothes shopping expedition in the afternoon? Might be fun even for those who don't buy anything...

Why did you assume there might be a dress code? I mean.... Peaches? Dress code? Wha?

Regrettable Juvenilia
11:57 / 07.03.02
Answer A: Electric Stew - club that happens on Saturdays, at the Great Eastern Hotel, somethings including live acts - apparently has a dress code.

Answer B removed for reasons of peace. And marriage.

What? Chill out, for fuck's sake. Beneath all the "wha?", etc. it was a genuine question. I was about to despair for the future of clubs/live events, etc - wanted to know if I had a reason.

Not quite sure what I did to deserve that...
