Here, a college pal o' mine sent me this letter here. He edits a fiction mag. They like genderbending, weird time loops, chaos magic, Hal-Hartley-style psychodrama, cyberpunk stuff. Although they'll publish things outside those borders if they happen to LIKE the story.

They also publish photos and graphic art.

Here: quote:XERO magazine is a small press (like in a few
hundred copies distributed)
magazine that is published once or twice per
year. What we usually publish is
fiction (psychosexual/industrial gen X stuff),
art, photography, and poetry.
Up until this latest issue (# 8) we have been
publishing it digest size (5
1/2" X 8 "). We have decided that from Issue 8
forward we are going to bring
the magazine size up to 8 1/2" X 11".

In celebration of the new format, we want to
freshen up the 'zine a bit by
getting some fresh blood into this next issue. We
also want to punch up the
cutting edge element a bit too, so we have
decided to try an experiment. We
are requesting work that might have a XEROish
theme from people we haven't
seen before (and some we can't get rid of as
well) and we are going to set
very few limitations: 1) it must have a XERO
feel, 2) it must be good quality
work, 3) we are looking for 1 or 3 page spreads
that take some chances. If
you have a piece that is longer we may consider
that as well. Hell, send us
your grocery list if that's what you feel is art.
The worst thing that could
happen is we could feed it to the goat.

What do you get out of it? If we use your
submission, you get a free copy of
issue 8 with your work published in it. Here's
the catch: we need submissions
by August 16. We are in a bind.

So what is the XERO feel? Well, you can go to our
site (www.xeromag.com) and
see for yourself, as it has excerpts there from
prior issues.

Here's what you should include if you submit:
1) submit by email to submissions@XEROmag.com. If you are sending
graphics, you can send us a scan and we will
request a hi-res version if we want to use it.
2) If you don't mind us calling you, then include your phone number.
3) Don't forget a mailing address if you want your contributor's copy. We
print the 'zine on real honest to goodness paper.
4) Oh yeah, in the contributor's section we print stuff about the artists
and authors. Include a list of 10 things you love and 10 you hate.

Good luck and have fun storming the castle,

Gary Jurman

Put is down to inexperience but I couldn't find any other thread more suitable to post this message.

I publish my fiction on-line on my blog and would welcome feedback from anyone!??

The current project is a series of short stories called

The Cunning Man Series.

There are two stories so far the second one just published.

Cal is an urban cunning man does readings and spells for money. In his latest sojourn he finds himself tackling a pub haunted by a succubus whilst his girlfriend is seeking to relocate him halfway acrosss the world.

This is an everyday story of South London folk.

Enjoy!
