A land where my dreams don't come true.

A room constructed solely of nervous ticks, where doors and windows begin to jolt and twitch as stress levels rise, forcing belligerent inhabitants to depart.

A city where telepathy has rendered mobile phones unnecessary and titanium bowlers essential.

A blue treacle sea with great pockets of air where you can watch slow moving fish and stock-still kelp.

A c-dimensional hallway with Nielsen topology.

A big white building with a red front that looks like a restaurant with valets and everything. Inside is a restaurant and library, but if you open what looks like an airvent you'll discover that it's actually a door to a big part of the bulding where gravity comes from all sides but is very weak, so people just jump all over the place and glide around.

Or something like the thing in Neverwhere. A separate world in this world but just for us.

A room, containing doors that take you into your body at every time in your life when you've had a regret so you can go back and play the scene out over again.

one of the things that i like to do when at an art museum is make a list of all of the questions that i would like to ask the inhabitants of the paintings.

thus...a museum where the paintings are portals. where you could actually walk into them and be transported to the worlds grown from the images.
-the cubists world: do they have a hard time finding clothes that fit? are their sofas comfortable?
-escher: is everyone running around totally confused about where they are going? are they disturbed by the giant ants and flatworms that traipse around?
-bosch: are the people in the garden screaming and suffering or enjoying their torment?
-all: are they aware of the artist that created them?

i would, of course, be a total nuisance running around asking the pages and pages of questions that i have collected.

A highway where you could drive all night and the sun never came up, where there were endless radio stations coming in and out of range, all playing good songs, and you never got tired. You could drive forever, stopping once in awhile at an all-night convenience store or a truckstop for a microwave burrito or a soda or smokes. Then you'd stretch your legs, get back in your car, and go on driving through the endless night.

A huge dark forest inhabited(sp?) by modern day flower children with drumming circles, discussions of new tech, all night and all-day dancing, public pizza making and a lot of electric kool-aid. Sort of like a permanent Rainbow Family national gathering.

A house built of clouds that felt like a giant pillow, which floats about on warm tropical breezes.

Fictionville.
A placewhere every idea ever concived takes on a physical reality.

I think we live pretty close to fictionville these days. We're getting closer...

Yet another library, this time containing all the information I'm going to wish I'd had at this point in my life when I get to forty.

Better yet, an extradimensional post room so I can send info back to my eighteen year old self.

With a lake in it. I like lakes.

This is a horrible thing for a writer to ask for, but...

A world without words. Where every emotion, thought, and idea is etched so plainly on your face that you don't need words to explain them. Where love can be felt by touch and where hatred doesn't exist, because it's impossible to lie to anyone, or yourself. Where secrets never form, and are never kept from anyone at all. Where orgasm can be achieved by a kiss and where art really is universal.

The world were you didn't say what you just said 10 seconds ago.

The room of the last word, where you get to say the last thing you said to someone, but this time you know it's the last thing you'll ever say.

The small booth of you ten years ago.

The land were all your words are taken literally.

The house of cheap slasher flicks, were you (and your soroity friends) will meet a monster/man/alien with razor claws/hockey stick/big teeth, but everything is set right the following day.

A shooting range where all the targets are moments from your past. Destroy one, and you erase all memory of it from the minds of anyone involved, including yourself. You will be supplied with a variety of weapons to deal with them accordingly, from an atom bomb which you can drop on the lot to make everyone forget you ever existed, to a super accurate needle gun to pick off those small but embarrassing moments from the past which occassionally sneak up on you when least expected and make you go "aaah SH*T, I can't believe I said that, oh God nooooo! Uh, what a prick I was then."

Saveloy: patent this, and sell tickets. You'd be on the gravy train for life.

An airplane turned into a movie theater for kids that shows cartoons. It has a re-arranged seating structure so they don't use tvs to show the movie but a silk screen.

Oh, and it's free.

And an "adult" movie theater which shows horror movies and stuff. movies that were in cinemas long ago and movies made directly for that movie theatre.

I'd like to visit that place where all my alternate selves get together and have a pint. Chat about what's going on in their lives, see where we all diverged and how things are going. I think the pub'd have to be called "The King and Quantum", kind of live Callahan's Crosstime Saloon (Spider Robinson sci-fi series), but with different realities instead of different worlds.

Zoom.

A beach, on a lagoon somewhere in the South Pacific, where you can breathe the water. You can dive and swim and never come up for air.

There are the ruins of a prehistoric village in the lagoon, now encrusted with oxygen-producing corals and sponges.

Something about the island makes it impossible to build an exclusive high-budget resort there. Instead, it's only accessible by canoe and seaplane.

A dark room for playing poker with rules you don't know, blank cards and a dealer who is always smiling.
