Right, i'm confused here... Grant Morrison has already written a four issue limited series entitled Fantastic Four: 1234 with artwork provided by Jae Lee- is this the series you refer to or is there something else in the works?

From what I have heard, Marvel only plans to have four Ultimate titles going at any one time. Since the Ultimate Marvel Team-Up is finishing, this makes room for the FF. Rumour has it that Morrison will be writing the title, but this is all still being sorted out, so we'll just have to wait and see.

First post on the new board. Fingers crossed.

From what I've read around it seems they're planning it for a year's end launch. And hold on: it's very likely that the art will be computer generated just like the one on "Spider-man: Quality of Life" miniseries written by Greg Rucka. The CG art guy in this one is Scott Sava.

I wish I knew how to post links so you could get an idea... It's my first day on the new ( and beautiful ) board...

Okay, the facts.

1) Millar recently stated that any ultimate expansion would be predicated on the success of the line: He never stipulated a finite number of titles or an long term objective for the off-shoot.

2) Millar also stated that the future of the entire marvel continuity may be affected by the the new universe's ultimate (pun intended)failure or success.

3) Seeing as the ultimate universe has sold so well Millar also speculates that we could be in for an interesting year.

In conclusion it would seem that Mr Grant Morrison, being a fan favourite, could well be writing the fantastic four.

However, CGI art? I remain to be convinced. Sounds shit!

The facts:

Millar doesn't run Marvel.

Quesada and Jemas do.

Quesada and Jemas said the Ultimate line isn't meant to replace the origional Marvel Universe.

One of them (don't remember which) said the Ultimate line was only supposed to include four titles.

Quesada and Jemas say all kinds of crazy shit.

Marvel will do whatever benefits Marvel.

Rob Leifield and Igor Kordey will be filling in when Scott Sava falls behind.

Assuming that Millar isn't entirely talking out of his arse, and assuming that the future of the ultimate line is based on sales figures, I don't think it's going too far to suggest that any past statements about the ultimate line from Jemas or Quesada only have a limited shelf-life.

Business is, by nature, pragmatic.

Moved a stray post from a seperate thread by Cameron Stewart from 13:32 27.03.2002:

"I've heard vague rumours elsewhere that there's an Ultimate FF in the works, entirely new and seperate from FF 1234.

The thing that has me all trepidatious is the rumour that it will feature "computer generated" artwork.

Ugh. "
