The day went bay real quick. My mind was full of thoughts all day, trivial to philosophical.
I'm worried about a few things and I need to vent.
I don't like the direction the media has taken this. Keep thinking about how the bad guys are going to turn this to their advantage. The ratio of news coverage per locale makes me suspect that they don't want us to see what's going on in Pennsylvania or D.C. I bet the military industry gets a big boner when they see the new budget proposal.
They want everyone to be afraid. The surveyman asked me how many basic freedoms I would be willing to sacrifice in exchange for the security that this would never ever happen again on u.s. soil. They knew this was going to happen...
Just like Pearl Harbor you say? That one ended with an atomic bomb as I recall. Do we dare proceed with that analogy?
Everything about the attack seems so poignant, the symbols of capitalism and military destroyed hollywood style... I like this stuff in my fiction but the camera keeps showing me all the lives that were lost and it's like the world was just a little more real, a little more solid today.
I've recently wondered... what would it take to instigate a revolution in america? and would it require violence and bloodshed? What would it take to make the majority of the population realize what we're doing wrong and what needs to change? I'll bet a lot of people were paying attention today and what was the message from in god we trust? Revenge. Us and them. Forever attacking the symptoms while the real problems remain and the status quo stays the same. Obviously, someone's real pissed at america and I'll bet they've got at least twenty five reasons why. Instead of the news rehashing fears and gore clips today, why not an introspective look at the country that reaps what it sows?
I don't know. So many lives lost so they could spell out a simple sentence. America is the god of military/industry/capitalism, you are fat because the rest of the world starves. What if they keep killing massive numbers of people and we simply continue to use it as an excuse to put a face on our adversary?
"We only know what they tell us." Incidently, I made all this stuff up. microphone+speaker=eeeeeeeeeee feedbackeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
