At approximately 9AM 2 airplanes hit the WTC in what appears to be a terrorist attack on the U.S. Who the fuck would do this?

no official line yet, but angel tells me the ITV coverage is already making the israeli connection, although nobody's claimed responsibility yet. at least they hadn't when i just saw the BBC coverage.

the footage of the twin towers billowing smoke is pretty scary though. seeing the second plane crashing into the tower looked like really shitty special effects, and the fact that i thought that is just....wrong.

how long before hollywood brings us the story...? ick.

I just heard that the FBI suspects hijacking and the #1 suspect is Ladin(sp?), someone who's arranged this time of thing before.

CNN is reporting that one of the planes that hit the towers is a Boeing 767 that was hijacked from Boston's Logan Airport.

I work on lower Fifth Avenue, which provides a view of the carnage from afar...huge thick black plumes of smoke and bits of charred steel breaking away and falling.

CNN is jammed, so I'm checking the BBC for updates.

I sincerely hope there are no NYC/Boston barbelithers caught up in it (The planes were hijacked from Boston).
