I think the panic-response reflex is being a bit taxed by the Media... turn it off if it's getting to you...

Go outside Hug a tree... play with your pets... or someone else's... use this whole atmosphere as an oportunity to do something GOOD for anyone... your-self even.

This is how we must change the world... there are TOO many who will respond drasticly already...

i need to get some lunch... <smile.gif>

Gotta say, though, we caught about an hour and a half of BBC World news on a small public TV station (WYCC in Chicago)and we were AMAZED at how much more analytical and intellecutally informative it was. ABC, NBC and CBS just keep flashing crash pictures again and again but there was actual ANALYZING on the world service.

Fox News absolutely wins the prize for most sensationalism, however...

Well when my good buddy was crushed by a drunk driver I was mind-numbed for a bit... partied HARD with mutual friends that helped.

When my life-long mentor died of aids... I cried ALOT...

When my good friend's 3 year old son died of heart failure... I was silent.

There's No proper means of processing such a tragidy... but I would guess that letting one's emotions be manipulated by the media's quest for ratings, to not be a good thing.
If this disastor becomes personal then I can't express the value of having a loving pet... or the company of friends & family.

I truely hope this mess does NOt become a personal tragity to anyone on this board or even pariphally connected. I've still got friends & family in New York myself.

Still... I would find beating the War-drum to not be of help to anyone...

so what can we do? what can i do as an individual? i think alot of us are asking ourselves that question. and i don't really have an answer, i just want to say thank you all for being here and helping me see what the People have to say instead of just the media. thank you for giving me emotional support and simply for being here and expressing what you think and asking your questions and giving ginune replys. i wonder what we would all be doing if we didn't have our network. i think it is all wonderful synchronicity that we all have each other. and i don't know what messeges you got from The Invisibles, but for me... this hits hard.
so my question again, what can i do? i believe that this is a major event, on many rhelms. i want to encorage all of you reading this to follow your heart. and realize that you are a superhero, you are the second comming of christ. you can move mountains and split seas. use your powers for good. for God. for love. may the holy spirt of God annoint and empower you all.
i think it was a beautiful way to speak of the blood donations as carring compassion. AMEN! let it be. let your love and light be infectious. i see the 60's in you.
be the BADASSROCKSTAR God wants you to be. it is almost time to choose sides. Christ be with you.
and all my love to the cops and firefighters and paramedics and all the others who gave their lives trying to save others.

i posted this somewhere else, but i'll put it here too since you asked specifically. one thing to do is call your local congresspeople (is that what you call your politicians in the us? not sure) and tell them you don't want your country to go to war, that you don't want your government to escalate things, that you don't want bush to indiscriminately attack whole countries in retaliation for the actions of specific groups, that the tragedy's not an excuse for racist violence, etc.

And/or, contact/join/start a peace activist group, since there's already tons to do.

While we're praying for a peaceful response from the United States, could I get anyone of faith to put in a good word for the law abiding muslim american citizens who will most certainly come under witch hunt type fire if this gets any uglier?
