Well frankly I'm fucking delighted. I have (I think) all of the muses albums, but I think everyone is agreed that they were at their best around Real Ramona time when Donnelly and Hersh worked together...

Belly is releasing a greatest-hits record too, which is kinda silly since they only ever had two LPs. They botched the job horribly, too - if just because their finest song "Puberty" is not in the tracklisting.

It's not so much that that worries m,e as the fact that Kristen Hersh has maintained a high standard of quality as a solo artist, and is now going to have to carry Tanya Donnelly *again*.

The first Belly album is equally as fine a creation as the best Muses album. Hersh has a tendency towards the arcane that doesn't always translate into classic music, Donnelly has a tendency towards the trivial that doesn't always translate into classic music. As far as I'm concerned they NEVER been as good as when they balance each other out...
