how many albums have they got now 3?
Seven, actually. Their first album, It, came out in 1983.
Their albums, in chronological order, not including compilations:
It, Freaks, Separations, His N Hers, Different Class, This is Hardcore, and the newest, We Love Life.
My favorite is This Is Hardcore, and I highly recommend it, but if you have to just have one, go for Different Class. That's one has their big defining singles on it, like "Common People" and "Sorted For E's and Wizz". It's a fabulous record, you'll like it a lot.
His N Hers and We Love Life both have some very good tunes on them, but have weak patches. Worthwhile, but not essential.
The first three are very spotty, and Jarvis sings in a much deeper, flatter voice, it's not nearly as good as it is now. If you have an interest in early Pulp, you're better off getting the Countdown compilation, all of the best songs from that era are on there.
Flyboy: before I hop on a fucking Concorde to come to London to slap you silly, no, I am not talking about the Rod Stewart impersonator. I am talking about the fucking Layne Staley impersonator. There is simply no one else in pop music a person could confuse Layne Staley with (save for his legion of Nu-Metal worshippers, I suppose), and an impression of his voice really would sound nothing like an impression of Rod Stewart!
