They're in Glasto this year, but only Roger Waters. No David Gilmour, no Syd Barrett, and possibly no Nick Mason.

What do you think?

My fave albums are Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell and no 1 Dark Side of The Moon.

But I love set the controls for the heart of the sun.

If it's Waters only, you'll definitely not get anyone else from the band there. And you can forget hearing anything post Final Cut, too.

He's playing a proper arena show in London sometime soon, I think - if you're considering only going for him, go see that - I daresay it'll be a lot more immersive than a festival set.

Expect a reasonable amount of solo stuff, too, which may or may not be to your liking.

I'd rather hack my own leg off than watch/listen to whatever shambling bunch of gentleman farmers are calling themselves 'pink floyd' this decade.

But then, your music taste is shit, so maybe you'll enjoy it..

Waters is coming to Brazil, March 9. Wasn't going until this friend of mine said he was going with a shitload of acid. Won't be paying much attention to the music, really.

Ha! I would love to witness whatever hilarious spectacle a reunited Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett could be...

Now, wait one minute: I thought Gilmour and the other guy who isn't Nick Mason were the only ones carrying on the Pink Floyd name these days - when did they give up, and when did Waters decide to step back in? Is Waters planning on recording new material as Pink Floyd? Or could the Gilmour group get together and be equally justified in touring/recording as Pink Floyd?

I really love Syd Barrett, and there are a fair few songs from the Waters era that I think are pretty good. But good god, man - The Division Bell? Are you kidding? The Final Cut really should have been the final Pink Floyd record, I think.

I remember a few articles floating around a month or two ago that basically said, while Gilmor and what's his name haven't officially ended Pink Floyd, neither of them has any real interest in doing anything with it for the forseeable future.

I think they should have called it quits by WYWH

tSuibhne : That's how it is - I think that was around the time Jools Holland's album came out: Gilmour played on that.

Waters is touring as himself. I'm pretty sure it's him at Glasto, not Floyd. I've heard a quote that was like "We've got all the Pink Floyd tunes because we've got Roger Waters, who wrote them" which has somehow become parleyed into "We've got Pink Floyd". I don't imagine they'd have both on the same bill: Waters would chuck a hissy fit and leave.

Never stop fighting! Never stop fighting till the fighting's done!

I might be at Glastonbury this year... but I don't know whether I'll be in any fit state to see a band...

I heard, from a not terribly reliable source, last night, that Dave Gilmour has said that he has no desire to do anything further with the Floyd. That saddened my drug-addled mind, but perhaps it's for the best.

I haven't liked anything from the band Post -Final Cut simply because Gilmour is a good musician who doesn't have that streak of madness that made Floyd so fun for teenagers to listen to. His stuff always struck me as if it was by someone who was really straining to be deep and failing.

But what the hell do I know, as I've been geeming on "Radio KAOS" for the past couple of weeks.

I'd imagine he'll come out with a new Pink Floyd album when he's needing a cash influx.

Y'know, I've heard that it's Floyd and not Waters that are playing Glastonbury this year. Anyone else know? Actually, the report I heard said (and I try to quote) "Playing this year will be the Strokes and Pink Floyd." I really don't want to live in a world where someone bills the Strokes before PF. Anyway, if they are playing, I might consider a holiday, if some money rolls around then. The way it's going it seems that PF won't be releasing any more albums or touring anymore, and I'd like to see them once more.

Is there a site for this show?

Zoom.

Waters played here in Brazil yesterday. I could have gone (a friend of mine got cheaper tickets), but in the end... figured out they would be playing stuff from Dark Side and The Wall, mostly, which I`m not particularly a big fan of, so I didn`t go... Maybe next time...
