I don't know. For some reason I'm OK with lists in magazines like Spin or Uncut where I can see who did the reviews and look around the magazine for their other bits to see if I value their opinions or not but I can't stand webzine lists. I think its probably the quality of the reviews that bothers me. That and the fact I have no idea who the reviewers are.
Spin for example: I know that if Charles Aaron says an album is incredible theres a good chance I'll like it but if I see the name of the guy that did the handjob on NIN's Fragile a couple of years ago I need to run like hell. God, that review was sooo shit I still remember it and I've never even heard the album.
I also like the way people argue over their choices of music and comics around here (not like that site you linked to where everyone was all kissy faced).
Ah well, if you want to collect the e mails or PMs I'll send you one.
I hate the idea. Those of us who have abnormal music taste compared to the rest of the board will not be represented cos no one else will pick the same records. I refuse to participate in any survey in case people think I actually like the Strokes or some such.
yeah, on second thought, I'm with Lyra on this... it would homogenize and even out too much, and the top ten would probably look just like everyone else's, and there's no good point in that.

Dude, it was an R.E.M. message board community. That should explain just about everything...
Oh, I love REM. That's where I go to get my REM news. But my point was : what do you expect of a group of people who are obsessively talking about REM every day?
You know what hardcore REM fans are like: they are basically wussy versions of Pearl Jam fans...
