Kid Rock 'doesn't get' Radiohead

Kid Rock says he doesn't understand the appeal of Radiohead.

He says their music does nothing for him.

But he thinks a joint tour with the British band could be fun.

Kid Rock told Q magazine: "I don't hate them, I just don't understand them. I've listened to their music and it does nothing for me.

"If I have a party on tour I'm not going to grab for the Radiohead CD to get the party started."

The star joked it might be funny to tour together. "They can go out and be sad and I'll pick 'em up."

it's the "hey, me likes PARTY! those guys no fun!" shout out to the world that I feel sorry about. Sorry for him. It's like waving a banner saying "I really don't give a fuck as long as there is coke and chicks around". But I found the bit about "they would be sad and I would pick' em up" really funny.

I don't know why this should come as a shock to anyone.. it's not as though Kid Rock is obviously into the sorta thing Radiohead do.

I think Kid Rock comes off as a bit of a jackass, but seems like the kind of guy who would be fun to chat with for a little while. He seems pretty amiable and friendly... I know a girl who has known the guy for years since before he was famous, and he's apparently a cool guy. Her boyfriend was the drummer on his Devil Without A Cause LP... I trust her judgement, she's a cool girl.

The one quote from Kid Rock that really bugged me was this one thing he said on MTV about how NO ONE goes into music for anything other than fun, drugs, and sex, that all the people who say they are in it for the music are lying. That really pissed me off.

I like Kid Rock, and I like Radiohead. He made a similar quote before, in his interview with Spin a few months back. Basically in that interview he said he didn't think his album was for the average Radiohead fan, and vice-versa.

I think Kid Rock is hilarious. I loved the video for his new single that takes the flag-waving thing to its natural extreme: chicks in American Flag bikinis, being bounced up and down and giant American Flags. It's perfect.

He's Kid Rock. There's nothing real serious going on there, and I would definitely pay to see a tour with Radiohead and Kid Rock.

but i must say every interview, every sound bit, every time he opens his damn mouth, i'm either amused or agree w/ the guy... he is possibly the only person in music today that i like what he says and lothe his music... and i also can't get into radiohead, when i listen to it i feel like an old man

"Cowboy" is a great song. I used to play it as my theme when I'd sneak into the computer labs at a school I didn't go to before I had internet access.

There's just so many great Kid Rock lines:

I've heard a few of his songs I actually have one of this albums, he does exactly what it says on the tin..some of his songs or ok, specially if you have problems with your family

I dunno I kinda like Only God knows why in a cheesy sorta way, on the other hand I'm pretty sure some people would be deeply offended with some of his stuff ("I'll Fuck you Blind Bitch, springs to mind) - still don't think there's anything wrong with what he's saying....

And anyway give him a break he did Takers theme when he returned before they decided to use Limp Bizkit (sp)...

Yeah, my little brother burned his new album, "Cocky," for me and I haven't really listened to it except for "World Class Sex Rhymes" with Snoop, and it could be a little offensive - but then, the fact that Snoop and Kid Rock do a whole verse about tag-teaming some girl in Air Force One with Bill Clinton kind of makes up for it.
