They fucking blow me away.

Particularly 'Pyromaniacs' and 'Blaze'. The insistent, aggressive delivery, intro samples about monkeys and subtle production are all topnotch.

Anyone know anything about 'em? Like where they're from, who they are, what else they've done?

I've liked them for a while, though I've never quite got round to buying any of their records. But I've got 4 tracks by them on a compilation album and yes, they pretty nuch rule.

Actually, I'm laffing it up on this end because;

a)they've been extensively played on the radio by Steve Lamacq

and

b)they're signed to the uber-indie Matador records

So I naturally assumed that you'd have already dismissed them as shitty whiteboy hip-hop..

(Oh and also, I heard this single on the radio recently by a guy called D-Stroy who used to be in the Arsonists - it was called 'Roll Out' and it had loads of samples from Transformers and it was absolutely BRRIILLIIANNT - but I've been completely unable to find it anywhere..)

Would either of you like a CD copy of "As the World Burns?" Just PM me your address.

I don't know, man, I think they aren't very good. I know the record As The World Burns, I know some of the songs they've done since, I've seen them live, even... I just think they are lame. That's about as much as I can say about them...

As far as Matador's forays into hip hop go, you'd be better off listening to Non-Phixion or Live Human, I think.
