I know theres at least one cd youd hate to admit publicly that you own - what is it?

I generally keep very quiet about the fact that I own every Pearl Jam LP, plus a few singles and a couple of the 'bootleg' live records.

I also keep quiet about the fact that I have a few NIN Lps.

I'm not ashamed of any of the records I own, though.

Trust me, you don't wanna go down this path, sister. Not that I posted a thread of a similar ilk before. Or that I was really trashed at the time.

My little bro is like the biggest Pearl Jam fan on earth, flux. You're not alone.

I own lots of horrible CDs but I think the one that embarrasses me the most is the Wallflowers first album. What in hell was I thinking ? One Headlight?

<<shudder>>

I think that clearly shows my age, doesn't it?

I think the most hateful CD (you didn't specify tapes - thank god!) I own is probably Fun Lovin' Criminals - 100% Columbian, which is absolutely indefensible garbage.

I mean, their first album had a few fun tunes, but buying the second one? How fool was I!

Meat Loaf- Bats out of Hell I and II.

I may still have them actually, or surreptitiously slid them into my Mum's CD collection. God only knows what I was thinking of at the time...

Yeah, I wasn't implying that it was weird to like Pearl Jam or anything...they are a really great band, and get better all the time. I'm just saying, I don't go around telling people, because while I like the band, I'm not too crazy about their fans...

Having to sit through the Wallflowers lifeless perfomance at the TIbetan Freedom Concert back in 1997 was one of the worst concert experiences I've ever had...they really played the songs EXACTLY as they appeared on LP, and looked and played as if they didn't want to be there. It was like the musical equivalent of a bored bank teller or something...

Sax, you should check out Sonic Youth's version of "Addicted To Love" by Robert Palmer. It's basically Kim Gordon recording a karaoke version of the song at a Sears in the mid-80s. It's a great song no matter who does it, though.

Ha! I taped it so I could play it in my mum's car when we went shopping or whatever.

Damaged? My credibility? Never.

What makes it worse, though, is that I think it was the first vinyl I ever bought. Along with a copy of some then-new cast recording of The Rocky Horror Show (condoms were mentioned, can't remember who the cast was) and a copy of Pink Floyd's Works compilation disc.

There y'go. Three quite ropey purchases, first up, and all at the same time. Bah.

Toni Haliday's first two solo singles from before Curve. They're absolutley awful!

J.Lo - Jennifer Lopez. It's a long story and it's not my fault. Blame Mr E. He did it!

Why don't YOU fess up and admit that you're not from London at all? In fact, you're a 17-year-old son of Jesus Freak parents living in rural Nebraska, aren't you?

Ok I admit it your right, I'm here to save you all from your lives of sinful music - burn your CD's and listen to Charlotte Church as soon as you can !!

It actually gets worse I had a Spice Girls poster on my wall but that was more out of madness than I like of their music

My record collection is so goddam hip that the records I'm ashamed of are the ones you all search for but can't find.

We done now?

As has been pointed out before, what these threads really are is lists of records that you aren't actually ashamed of, but rahter think are amusingly awful or show just how much you've moved on...

Pffffffft. I'm 25 and have 15. And three Roger Waters solo albums. Oh, and that Dave Gilmour one. Pity me, for I had a terrible set of teenage years...

Wait, come back! Most of them aren't here! Where are you all going?

Sigh.

Ok, we're both educated people. So you won't have problems admitting that this is a liiittle bit too much.

Sadly, it's true. Amused to Death could be one of the worst albums ever [rarely] heard. I am truly ashamed.

Although I did get it on sale.

At K-Mart, no less.

I'm in a no win situation. When I listen to eighties rock my cool friends make fun of me, when I listen to dance music my 80's rock friends make fun of me, when I listen to pop or rnb my tortured angst ridden alternative friends make fun of me.

As a result I no longer feel embarressed about my CD collection, just my friends.

I too have a lot of Pink Floyd albums. I love NIN and I've just been listening to Pearl Jam.

As for music which may give you all a giggle.

Cinderrella- Night Songs
Various Cult albums
2 Bon Jovi vinyls.
Fire and Gasolene-Steve Jones
2 Dave Lee Roth albums (which I bought last year in a fit of nostalgia, this was during my buy on CD all the albums I wanted when I was 15 but couldn't afford also including the first 2 Megadeth albums).

Oh and Def Leppard-Hysteria. Which I bought a couple of months ago and I can justify it if I have to.

Oh, I haven't moved on.
