DJs Uncovered

I think many DJ's get a rough time due to the mobile disco cowboy and the High Street club poser. I thought it was a good time to get some info from the struggling/accomplished DJs out there.

Whats your DJ name, and why?

What do you play, and where do you get it?

Whats the best gig you've played, and why?

Whats the worst gig you've played, and why?

Whats does DJing mean to you, and what do you add to it?

Which DJ's and Artists do you admire and why?

Are you playing New Years and where?

[I'm not professional - by a long stretch of the imagination]

Whats your DJ name, and why?

My own. Because I can't be doing with these silly titles.

What do you play, and where do you get it?

If I was being cool, I'd say 'freestyle' but I'm not, so I'll just say whatever takes my fancy.

Whats the best gig you've played, and why?

The ones where I can mix. Because I can mix.

Whats the worst gig you've played, and why?

The ones where I start 'train-wrecking.' Or the one where someone bumped into my deck and sent it crashing to the floor. Hasn't worked since....

Whats does DJing mean to you, and what do you add to it?

It's making music out of music; I add my own blend of erratic mixing.

Which DJ's and Artists do you admire and why?

Too wide a question, really. Favourite DJs: Scott Hardkiss, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, David Holmes are among the favourites. Changes a lot, however...

Probably Holmes and Garnier nudge it by not being tied to a style

Are you playing New Years and where?

No, unless I get that damn deck fixed
