Your short and succint questions have inspired the following lengthy reply, honourary Canuck, Grantb.
There is indeed a Hanson Bros. seal, similar in style to that of the Ramones. It is showcased in the Gross Misconduct sleeve. I am unable to find it on the internet, but needless to say it does have a goose, beer, a hockey stick and the words Total Goombah prominently displayed.
There were only three Hanson Brothers in the movie Slap Shot. Two of them were real brothers. None of them were goalies. The band The Hanson Brothers is comprised of members of Nomeansno and DOA, two Canadian punk bands. The two sets of Hansons have joined together to petition the Hockey Hall of Fame to induct Tiger Williams in his rightful place of honour. Tiger has the most career penalties of all time. The movie Hansons will be making a small appearance in Slap Shot II. Action figures and jerseys are available.
It is indeed a mystery as to why Neil has never written a Hockey song. Keep in mind, however, that unlike many of his contemporaries Neil does not make many overt reference to his homeland.
His father, Scott Young, a sports journalist, co-wrote the Hockey version of Love Story known as Face Off. It's the story of a brawlin' goon of a player who falls in love with a hippie, and could be seen as the elder Young's resentment towards his son's chosen lifestyle. Needless to say it is considered the worst Canadian Movie ever made. Think about it. Try and comprehend that.
