It's an 80s out-of-the-way/college radio hit.
A friend put it on a tape which had a few Yardbirds songs and a Jam album, and it fits perfectly in between.

"Some assembly required, that's what I said to her...."
seems to be one of the main components of the verse.

The chorus, catchy as hell, is:
"Oh, we're gonna glow in the
dark...
tonight...
We're gonna glow in the
dark tonight!"

I have no idea who did it.

Nor do I sadly, but it sounds good.

From the lyrics, it sounds kinda Guided By Voices-ey, but I don't suppose it is them.

I have no idea what it is, but I will echo that while it does seem very GBV, it's almost definitely not (there's so many GBV songs I can't be certain--- but I do know everyone that can even loosely be called a 'hit'). And besides, while GBV did exist in the 80s, they were completely unknown to people outside of Dayton (and even those in Dayton) til around 94.

I thought Frank Sinatra (and Baseball) was the pride of Hoboken, NJ?

I used to work at Stevens Institute, so I know *all* about Hoboken *laugh*.

Lead singer Richard Barone's website here.

You must have an encyclopedia for a head. Just got over reading your career history of Stewart Copeland. I bow to your (insane) knowledge.

It's a curse. Ask me sometime about the musical link that leads from Nick Drake to Spearhead...

Hell, what about Sonic Youth?

Sonic Youth is from NYC . . . but Yo La Tengo gets my vote as the pride of Hoboken.

hehe, they might be from Hoboken, but at a time where Hoboken wasn;t cool to be from its only within the last 5 or 6 years that hoboken has become "gentrified"

on the subject of useless music trivia, I'm usually pretty good for the 70's prog-rock variety, though I'm starting to get that kind of knowledge about more recent music lately.
