As the final battle is upon us, owen 23 asks "is Ministry our last musical hope?"

As soon as WB got taken over by AOL Time aka some fat old Swedish dick head, Ministry released something called Greatest Fits.

Owen asks: can Ministry help save the world in its darkest, most brutal hour by releasing a fucking good album?????

Do bears shit in the woods?? Opinions please

Just need to clarify meself.
I did NOT mean that Greatest Fits is a fucking good album. It's a corporate bollocks. I meant will they release a good 'un in the near future?
Nevertheless I respect City-zen-Rex completely for his comment.

Depends. Is Al on smack at the moment?

Personally, I think they're a bit past it...

Al's supposedly off the smack, and although I've not seen them live recently, some palz of mine who saw them last time around in Frisco said Ministry put on a fierce show.

The time's certainly right for them, but "will the music industry fuck 'em over" seems a more pertinent question. Look at Therapy?, for fuck's sake...They totally deserve more than the bumfuck A&M gave them.

They played homecoming at my old high school back in the 80s, when they were trying to sound like New Order.

No lie.

I have the album from that period - "With Sympathy." I actually liked it, but then I was really into synthy bands at that time. Boy was I in for a shock when purchased "The Land of Rape & Honey!"

Funnily enough, I've recently rediscovered "Filth Pig", which, with a couple of exceptions, didn't really grab me at all at the time. Listened to it a few weeks ago for the first time in ages (largely 'cos it seemed to fit the general zeitgeist- God, I hate people who say "zeitgeist") and realised I knew all the songs off by heart... and they were all good.
Gimme "Land of Rape and Honey" or "Psalm 69" any day... or better yet, Revolting Cocks' "Beers, Steers & Queers", although it doesn't have quite the topical resonance...
