Hey, y'all. Jack the Bodiless just sent it to me on e-mail, and I thought it would be cool for all you studio types (sorry if you wanted to start a thread on this, bro).
You don't often get access to a large band's multi-track recordings and asked for remixes. I figure some of you could do some amazing stuff with this!

Subject: MARILLION eWeb: Want to Remix Marillion?
Date: Sat, 10 Nov 2001 15:31:45 -0000
Greetings friends, freaks and fools!
Christmas is approaching fast so we had a bit of a panic on our hands
wondering where we could lay our hands on a suitably festive piece of music
for the Web Christmas CD (don't worry, it will be full of other goodies,
too!). Dave Meegan is in the studio mixing the live album, but he
reluctantly agreed to give us five minutes to “knock something out." We had
a jam, Dave recorded it, and he then gave the results to me as a computer
file to take home to mess about with.
I had loads of fun chopping, cutting and re-arranging until it started to
sound like a song. I invited H around to have a drink and a sing and we
ended up with a Marillionised version of “I Saw Three Ships.” Add to this
the inclusion of remixes on the Christmas CD by Marc Mitchell and our own
Erik Nielsen, and this started me wondering how many people out there would
love to get their hands on the raw multi-track recordings from
Anoraknophobia to have a play with on their computers, and maybe do a remix
or two….
We could supply you with the audio in WAV format and if you have the
required software you could show us what you can do. What do you think?
Seriously, if you are interested send an email to remix@marillion.com and if
there is enough interest we might be able to make them available.
Cheers!
Mark Kelly
