The Osbournes

Have you seen it? No joking around: The Osbournes is like a webcam from another galaxy.

I think it's interesting. Now that I think of it though, interesting doesn't seem to be the proper word.

I came across it by accident and was quite blown away, especially since I thought I was on The Learning Channel at the time. Thought to myself, "Hmmm... this isn't Junkyard Wars... it must be some sort of program about club kids.... Slightly retarded club kids, maybe.... wait, that's Ozzy!"

Definitely came away thinking I would tune in again.....

The part of the episode that really put me over was when they had the "pet therapist" come in. And afterwards, when Sharon was explaining to Kelly that they must get rid one dog in particular because it "shits aliens".

I caught the first episode, but not the newest ones. It deffinetly has it's moments. Much funnier then you'd think.

Watching Ozzy try to work the remote had me laughing my head off.

Does anyone know when it's on in the uk? And which of MTV's interminable collection of channels of fuckbake I have to wade through to get at it?

Sorry about the mood - trying to knock the cigars on the head.

It's on regular MTV in the US. I imagine you'll be getting it in some form before too long...

Ozzy barely qualifies as sentient, doesn't he?

oh man im so looking forward to this -- i've got someone filling up a tape for me... whenever i've heard ozzy in interviews he's been fucking hysterically funny, so i am indeed expecting a world of hilarity...[/LIST]

The episode I saw focused as much on the kids as on Ozzy, if not may be a little more.

I'm glad the show doesn't focus completely on Ozzy. Its not called "The Ozzy Show". It would have been easy to focus the entire show on Ozzy, but do you realize how boring that would be?

I really can't believe those kids. Look at the way they talk to their parents. If I had talked to my parents that way when I was 16, I would have gotten in trouble.

I like the fact that there are giant TV screens in just about every room, and how Ozzy calls everyone 'man'.

Finally saw the dog episode. Favorite parts? Ozzy having to be reminded who Billy Corigan is. And, "she's a fruit loop."

And next week, Kelly gets a tattoo.

Now this is good television.

I, Libertine
10:58 / 21.03.02
My favorite part was Ozzy's son complaining about his sister giving him attitude, and Ozzy says something like, "Right, right, I understand all that, but you have to look at it from my point of view: you're all fucking mad."

videodrome
03:07 / 06.04.02
I don't know what to make of this.

Cherry Bomb
17:22 / 06.04.02
Just saw this today. Highly addictive tv. Love after Kelly gets the tattoo (much to the chagrin of her parents), Ozzie standing showing off all of his tattoos and talking about how "people who get tattoos aren't original..."

Ozzy barely qualifies as sentient, doesn't he?

there's something soooo funny about someone's dad being an insane alcoholic. well, his kids probably don't find it so funny...

19:07 / 10.04.02
I read about the White House invitation. Perhps it's W's attempt at being cool with the younger generation (like Clinton courting U2), with a bit of luck Ozzy'll find he prefers biting the heads off hawks rather than doves.

Not Here Still
10:37 / 13.04.02
Invited to the White House?

What the fuck is a rambling, incoherent, fucked-up former drug addict and alcoholic going to find to say at that meeting?

"Hello Ozzy", I suppose...

Just got informed that this is starting in the UK on May 19th - if anyone is interested - sounds interesting...

Seen the first couple- you can download them off Kazaa... it's fucking excellent. And fairly heartwarming, too.

the Ozzy's is now on in the uk on the 26th May, i think.

I reckon on this being the next big thing myself. Watch parents everywhere getting more liberal after watching this!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
10:32 / 25.05.02
Any programme that has a REAL PERSON saying "you don't need to get a therapist for the dog... someone just has to get up at seven and open the fucking door!" is quite possibly a justification for the entire televisual medium.

Mourne Kransky
15:42 / 25.05.02
Saw a trailer or summat on RI:SE through the week saying The Osbournes would start in the UK at 10pm tonight on MTV. Hope it's repeated as we'll be out being sybarites. Sounds like a good premise for a show but I gather from an article this week that Puffy Daddy Diddy is trying to do similar show, set in his office. A new genre has been proven to have wings and we shall now be inundated with copycats.

Ganesh
16:29 / 25.05.02
This is not Ganesh but I haven't time to log out and in again.

Just checked the cable schedules and seems it's SUNDAY night at 10pm on MTV for the Osbournes in UK. There's a preview thing tonight at 11.30 called Ozzy Rules though, I see.

This comes to you courtesy of ZoCher's Public Information Service. Gotta go...
