Um, yeah, I guess my description makes it sound kind of cool .. but really, it's painful .. it is just sooo pretentious.. even the pretentious film critics thought it was too pretentious.
It just makes absolutely no sense - it's full of images and words which mean absolutely nothing (to the Western mind at least), but keeps coming on like it's revealing grand philosophical truths..
And it'full of long, ponderous close-up shots of sweating people's faces, intense colours, loud noises, loads of hay and tinkling cowbells and people standing on the edge of mountains shouting 'hooooo' at nothing in particular. Headache inducing. |
