I admit, it was a good, but not great, show (the animated version seemed to fit the comic book style better), but I'm royally pissed about how Fox treated it.
A. The Tick got excellent ratings for it's premiere, even more striking since it was in a Time Slot 'O Death (TM).
B. Did anyone see ads for this show? I didn't. It was almost like Fox wanted it to fail. Network execs have no faith in their products anymore. If it doesn't take off like a ICBM, it won't be around next week.
C. The network shuffle. Remember what NBC did to Freaks and Geeks? Half the time I tried to watch The Tick it wasn't even in it's usual time slot because Fox decided to preempt it with their other craptacular stuff. We can't really blame the Neilson folks because of that.
Yeah, I'm just thrilled that Fox will be able to pimp endless cheap reruns of reality TV dogshit like Temptation Island II instead of a solid original sitcom like The Tick, which was still better than 99% of formulaic sitcom crap that is handed to us by the networks every September.
