I miss the WWF

I really hate not having Sky, I watched Heat last night and found that I do really miss the WWF - only the WWF can take the word "What?" and make it into a catchphrase

I'm going to have to get the Rumble sent down here (unless anyone in London is taping it - hint hint)

HHH back tonight on Raw - Wooooooo

I thought it'd be great living in the States, cos I can watch Raw live every week and watch Smackdown before anybody else in the UK. But really what's so hard about waiting two days! And as it turns out I'm so used to watching RAW really late on Friday nights I forget it's on, on Mondays here. Plus in the UK I could make the PPVs an event every month. I'd get the day off work on Monday and stay up all night watching it live, and (lest we forget) FREE! but here you actually have to pay for the Pay Per Views and it sucks!

Tonight's Raw is different though! I'm tellin ya. HHH's return.. I am SO TOTALLY there. I've been looking forward to his return for eight LONG months, and tonight it happens.

AAwwww BABY!

Oh good, Kevin Nash, which goes to show that the wrestling business can't keep a lazy arrogant fucker down.

Wrestling, love it. Gone crap lately though, too much story not enough action. Why does Ric Flair own half of the compnay? What happened to the Undertaker and Kane? Where is Benoit??? When will Shawn Michaels be coming back for no reason whatsoever (and Marty Janetti who comes back every time Shawn does for a fight).

Ahh the good old days. Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Brett Hart, Razor Ramon.... Memories... Mammories...

Nope, Vince won't take Hall back. Too many drug and alcohol problems according the Jim Ross's interviews. And I don't know how Nash will do, since Vince expects people to actually work, and he was pretty well known for only wanting to show up every couple of weeks.

Benoit is out with an injury and should be back around March or so. Micheals was to come back last year but pulled his old shite in the locker room and was told to go home and hasn't been called since.

The shows have gotten a bit better since Austin did his face turn, and I hope they can keep it up, since Trip's return was perfectly done.

OK...in the buildup to WM17 last year, he was going to play a part in things, no wrastling, since his back is totally shot. He disbanded his wrestling school and showed up for RAW, was given his part and threw what Jim Ross called "An old school Shawn Michaels fit" that he didn't have enough lines, had to put over HHH and generally was a pain in the ass.

And about an hour before showtime, was told that they didn't need him that night. He left in a snit, flew home and hasn't been called since.

To see just how different he looks now that he's off the 'roids, pick up the FMW "The Judgement" video where he refereed a match.

And for the best wrasslin info, I use www.1wrestling.com . They do a good job, and if they get a story wrong, they correct it. Lots of shoot interviews with people after they retire as well....

Hooray for Channel 5 -

quote:UK STATION SECURE WWF PPV RIGHTS

Channel 5 in the United Kingdom have secured the rights to WWF Heat and several pay-per-view specials, EWN can reveal. After being bombarded by Essential Wrestling's army of UK readers Channel 5 says fans won't have to PAY-per-view on their station: "Channel 5 have received enough e-mails about WWF programming to convince them that something has to be done to bring quality wrestling entertainment to its fans," Channel 5 told us. "We are happy to say that we have signed a 2 year contract with the WWF to broadcast the UK's version of Heat... Backlash, Fullyloaded /Invasion and Vengeance." The UK station also said they hope to broadcast the Royal Rumble in 2003: "Due to BSKYB signing to show the Royal Rumble and charging an unbelievable price for the viewers, Channel 5 are in the final stages of buying rights to show the Rumble."

It is now official that Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall have officially signed on with the World Wrestling Federation.

Vince McMahon held a meeting today and told producers that while he appreciated their input, he was bringing the big 3 into the WWF, and the morale after the anonuncement was said to be very low, especially since many key people are agianst the move. Many considered it a slap in the face but the front office staff realized that Vince McMahon is the boss and it's his decision.

At this time specific details regarding contracts and plans about debut angles and dates are unknown, but no doubt more information will follow.

Don't worry Darkside most people seem to be WWF friendly in here, I was a bit wary about posting about it but its cool - are you going to see WM - that would be so cool, yeah Hogan back, people are saying it'll be Rock v's Hogan at WM - also saying it'll be a new nWo with Nash, Hall, Hogan, Xpac and HBK - now that would be cool

He came back about three years ago to feud with Hogan again, and it failed miserably. It was mostly Hogan's fault (I could go into Major Geeky Detail if anyone wants) but since Hogan was under contract, the Warrior was let go. I also think in the New Non-Kayfabe Wrasslin, is gimmick just doesn't work anymore. If you notice, most of the cartoony wrasslers have been phased out or just show up on the lesser shows.

I didn't much care for McMahon's unveiling of the nWo, myself. It didn't work, story-wise and I hope they don't screw it up like they did the WCW Invasion stuff.
